Your adventure begins in Havana with a walk through Old Havana to learn about its colorful mix of 1950s American style, colonial architecture and modernity, the Museo de la Revolucion and the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts).

At sunset, stroll along the Malecon, the promenade that runs along the coast. With so much to do in this eclectic capital, you'll want to arrive a few days early to make the most of this exciting city.

We continue to Vinales, enjoy a walking tour through farms, tobacco plantations and lush farmlands for an insight into rural life. Learn more about the simple lifestyle here and see first-hand farmers growing tobacco for some of the most expensive cigars in the world. This charming little rural village is one of the easiest places to mingle with the locals in Cuba, who are very sociable and many of them love nothing better than drinking rum and dancing the night away!

Let's move to a quiet sandy arc on the southern coast of Cuba, commonly known as the Bay of Pigs. Discover the sites of the Bay of Pigs invasion, the battle between the United States and Cuban revolutionaries, then stop for a dip in its calm waters, with an exceptional variety of corals and fish, it could be Cuba's best kept secret. Then continue along the picturesque coast to Cienfuegos, a slice of Paris in the Caribbean. This is the Jewel of the South, a seaside city of relaxing streets and dazzling buildings founded in 1819 by French immigrant pioneers. Enjoy a photo stop at the Palazzo del Valle, which is the architectural pride and joy of Cienfuegos.

Next destination Trinidad. Maybe start your day with some Cuban coffee, it's served black, strong and super sweet, Trinidad de Cuba is a beautifully preserved colonial town located on the picturesque Caribbean coast. There is no doubt that it is one of Cuba's most alluring destinations, a great place to wander around, with nearly every scenery offering a photo opportunity. Trinidad's old-fashioned atmosphere and friendly locals make it a top destination for many visitors to Cuba. Nearby is the Valle de los Ingenios, where sugar plantations stretch as far as the eye can see. Why not take a dip in nearby Playa Ancon and relax on the long stretches of white sand or you can go hiking in the Sierra del Escambray.

On the way back you can decide whether to go towards Havana stopping in Santa Clara to visit the Che Guevara mausoleum and memorial, where you can get a rare insight into the revolutionary leader's legacy. Che's remains were brought here after they were found in a remote corner of Bolivia in 1997, where he was assassinated by the CIA-backed Bolivian army. Or continue to the wonderful transparent sea of Varadero or Cayo Santa María.
