Our travel suggestions allow you to discover the Caribbean sites of the south-north coast of Cuba, of great natural, cultural and historical value, on itineraries that reach colonial cities such as Holguin, and Gibara, a fishing town with colonial architecture.

Gibara, despite being a small town in the north of the province of Holguín, is a place that houses a large number of historical and cultural attractions: the Spanish Forts, strongholds of the defensive belt of this Cuban city.

The cultural traditions of Holguín originate from the union of customs of different aboriginal, Hispanic and African ethnic groups, the latter two components representing the fundamental trunks of the local culture. Among the oldest festive traditions, known since the 18th century, are the patron saint festivals, the cross altars and the May Pilgrimage.

The Guateques campesinos are still celebrated, village festivals where the traditional music is the “son montuno” the oldest peasant music. In Sagua de Tánamo they still dance the “tumba française” a dance of Franco-Haitian origin. Today many of the best cultural traditions have been saved.

Another point of attraction is the Loma de La Cruz (the hill of the cross) the highest and most panoramic point of the city. Previously called Cerro del Bayado. It changed its name when, on May 3, 1790, Friar Antonio de Alegría placed a large cross on its summit to drive away demons and begin a Catholic pilgrimage: the pilgrimages of the cross. Its summit is reached via a long staircase of 458 steps, built between 1927 and 1950.

After the tour of the colonial cities, relax on the most famous beaches in this corner of Cuba, Playa Guardalavaca, Playa Pesquero, Playa Esmeralda and Playa Ramon de Antillas, in addition to guaranteeing relaxation in the sun on white sand and turquoise seabeds, they are also located near spectacular diving sites.

The 4 and 5 star hotels are ideal whether you want to travel as a couple or as a family and by January 2025 new high-level hotel facilities will be inaugurated.

For nature lovers, the sunset on these beaches is a unique experience that contrasts the green of the vegetation with the blue of the sea of this wonderful stretch of coast.
