The small Hotel La Ronda overlooking Parque Cespedes. The concept is quite simple: take a 19th-century townhouse, fix the plumbing and install modern bathrooms, give a sprucing up to the rest of the building open to foreign tourists. Hotel La Ronda is located in the center of Trinidad, which was declared a world heritage by UNESCO. Nearby is the Romantic Museum, the Plaza Mayor (main square), the Church of Santa Ana Palace Cantero and more. The 17 air-conditioned rooms are on two levels and surround a large atrium with palm trees and potted plants. The decor is certainly not gaudy. However, the quality of the rooms is the same as the ones that are rented by private (the option most usual in Trinidad). The high ceilings and tiled floors colonial help keep the fresh salt; those facing south have tall French doors that open onto balconies overlooking the bustling square. Satellite TV, telephone, small refrigerators, and in-room safe are standard. The small restaurant and bar are happy, though very simple. Both continental dishes are served both Criollo.
