Hotel Islazul Gran Piedra is located in the foothills of the Great Stone in the Sierra Maestra. It is located at a distance of 26 Km. of the city of Santiago de Cuba. Its privileged environment preserves a rich flora and fauna of significant endemism. Its height exceeds 1234 meters above the sea level, being very attractive the huge rock that crowns the summit of the highest mountain in the Andes and whose estimated weight approaches the 75000 Tons. This feature is located in the third position of the world's largest within the list of Gines Record solid rocks. The Hotel also has a privileged location within the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and being surrounded by ruins of coffee plantations founded by French settlers, declared by UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity territory.
